Looking into how to get children into recycling

Need to try and get children to also teach thier parents:

Ideas need to be exciting, go home and tell their parents about this idea. Simple, so they remember ,

Reuse drawing paper. Tell the children they must use both sides of a piece of paper before they receive a new one.
  • Reduce – reduce the amount of things you buy and use and you will have less to throw away
  • Reuse – keep using the same things as many times as you can
  • Recycle – find new ways to use old things

Discuss the energy saved by recycling in a visual way that is easy for your child to imagine. For example, you might tell your child that the energy saved by recycling a single aluminum can is enough to light a 100 watt light bulb for 20 hours.

Educate your children about where disposable items come from. For example, paper plates are made from trees. Tell your kids that if they want to save our trees they should recycle paper products so they can be reused and a tree is saved.

Have your children grow a vegetable garden. Explain to them that by growing their own garden they are saving on the packaging used to buy those vegetables at the grocery stores.
