The materials Kate has given us to choose from:
My added Materials:
Sequins, glitter, fur, beads, mirror, sello tape , coins, plastic , string, ribbon.
Processes Kate has given us to chose from:
Others I could think of:
gluing, cutting, sewing,photographing.
I now need to chose 2 materials and 2 processes too research into.
The materials I think I am going to research into is Magazine pages and Sellotape.
Made from :
History of sellotape
The name Sellotape was derived from Cellophane, at that time a trademarked name, with the “C” changed to “S” so that the new name could be trademarked. The tape was originally manufactured in Acton West London.
How its made
Sellotape is made by heating adhesive materials until they melt. Then coated as a hot liquid. The coated tape is then cooled to give the finished tape.
Use of sellotape
If you’re hanging a picture on a plaster wall put a small “X” of cellophane tape over the spot you need to drive the nail this will prevent your paint from cracking
getting cat or dog hair off clothing
Photography and Scanning
The word photography comes from two ancient Greek words: photo, for “light,” and graph, for “drawing.” “Drawing with light” is a way of describing photography.
What is it used for?
Photography is a popular form of art that involves capturing a moment on film. Now digitized, photography can be manipulated using systems such as Photoshop to make for the best possible image.
Scanners owe their existence to the concept of telephotography, a technology based on telegraphs, only instead of simple text, entire images can be transmitted. The principle method involved radio or phone signals using different intensities to depict various tones and colors, gradually forming an image.
What are they used for?
Scanner is used for making more copies of an image or document.
